The Sunshine Hoops Prep Report was founded by Dexter Moore and Bobby
Cartwright. Through a common goal and a mutual desire for youth basketball,
these two men have created a Magazine along with a online source for those
that are interested in the up and coming youth basketball players in the
state of Florida and around the Country.
Bobby Cartwright
was born and raised in Dayton, Ohio. He grew up playing basketball
and baseball with a passion for both. As a kid he played on a Nationally ranked
program known as the Dayton Mohawks. The Mohawks competed annually at the National
Junior Pro Tournament in Tennessee. He also played baseball on the National level
as well, playing for a team that was on track to the Little League World Series in
1980 before losing in regional play. After a great career as a high school player
and a year in college, he entered the real world. But his passion for the game
remained the same. He Coached his first youth game in 1990, a group of kids 9
years old in Dallas, Texas. Since then Bobby has coached at hundreds of events
nationwide and has been admired by his peers for his work with kids. Along with
being a basketball and football coach for the past 15 years he also has served as
Athletic Director for The Dayton Flames Youth Organization, a non-profit youth
group in Dayton that caters to 250 boys each year through a very recognized
football program. The Flames have competed all over the U.S. and are known
throughout the Midwest as not just a good football team, but a first class
organization as well. In December of 2004 Bobby moved to Clearwater, Florida,
where he met Dexter Moore and the two hit it off very well. Together they had
similar ideas about upgrading the National notoriety of youth basketball in the
state of Florida. Along with the Magazine and web site, they have plans for a
sports complex in Clearwater, which will not only hold top notch state and national
tournaments, but also be the home courts of a Nationally ranked AAU youth basketball
program for boys and girls. Bobby is also a man of God and is a member of Without
Walls Int Church in Tampa, Florida. He is 37 years old, single and has 1 beautiful,
intelligent, talented and very special little girl, Brooklyn is 11 years old and lives
in Dayton, Ohio with her mother. I would like to thank the Dayton Flames Youth
Organization for allowing me to be a part of a first class group, especially each
and every player from the 2004 Super Bowl Champions for which I coached for 6 years
thank you guys for teaching me so much about what it means to be part of something
special. I love each and every one of you. And also the 2004 Kingdom Crusaders, I love
each and every one of you also. I will never forget the special year we had together.
